THE ROUTINE

Mr Bean in Václav Havel’s play The Garden Party… In this surreal physical comedy, a lonely office worker passes through a portal in a bathroom mirror and sets out in search of the meaning of life. The ordinary becomes extraordinary as each scene and dance takes you deeper into a whimsical world of illusion. After The Routine, your stomach will hurt from laughing, while you also discover the magic hidden in everything around you.

 

Joylyn Secunda is a Canadian multidisciplinary performer and creator of movement theatre. Her work combines mime, dance and physical theatre. She has performed in a number of cities across Canada and Australia and received the Artistic Merit Award at Newcastle Fringe 2026. In her creative work, she has collaborated with choreographers and teachers associated with Cirque du Soleil and contemporary dance theatre. She created The Routine together with her father David, a visual artist and performer.
