CIRCA: EN MASSE

A wild, tender and yet rough ride, En Masse presents two visions of humanity at its extremes through circus adaptations of Schubert's Winter's Journey and selected excerpts from Swan Song, as well as Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring.

Swedish composer Klara Lewis' electronic elements blend with Schubert's beautiful songs of love and loss, while a solo tenor and acrobats oscillate between anarchic energy and gentle melancholy. Then comes Stravinsky's Rite of Spring with its ecstatic tribal energy, vividly interpreted by acclaimed pianists. Meanwhile, acrobats fight to the death in the first-ever circus adaptation of The Rite of Spring.

Under the direction of circus visionary Yaron Lifschitz, the Circa troupe throws itself into intense explosions of physical power and energy.
