ELIŠKA BRTNICKÁ A KOL.: KOMÍN

A documentary and movement performance about chimneys and on the chimney, which brings facts, but also emotions associated with this symbol of the industrial era. Currently, many chimneys that are no longer in use are being blown up. However, with their demolition, the memory of the place also disappears. Can these buildings be preserved?

The audience will receive headphones with expert commentary, which is interwoven with the experiences of members of the Czech Chimney Sweeps Association. The movement of three performers on the chimney clarifies its physical parameters: dimensions, stability, strength and material, but above all its inherent verticality.
