KATEDRA NONVERBÁLNÍHO DIVADLA HAMU: ČÍ JE TO DORT

A situation comedy in the commedia dell'arte genre. One likes sweets, another sings the praises of a set table, another would rather run after a skirt, and a third laughs at everything from around the corner. Comedy with Masks, a year-long project by students of the MA program at the Department of Nonverbal Theatre at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts, is full of confusions and misunderstandings, as well as love affairs and platonic desires, as well as clever jokes.

The young servant Harlequin is consumed by love and tormented by hunger, while he tries to satisfy the whims of his rich master. A grand celebration of the wise Dottore's sixtieth birthday is coming up! The greedy Pantalone is therefore looking for the most suitable, and most importantly, the cheapest, gift. The beautiful maid Colombina bakes and fries, although the flirtatious and boastful Capitano is still hovering around her, and his pestering is already exceeding all bearable limits. Despite the busy environment, Pulcinella does not let the joy of a plate of cooked spaghetti be taken away, and the secretive Tartaglia is meanwhile making his own plans. Will the esteemed Dottore get his longed-for cake? And the others love, money, good food and peace?!
